Karen Burns

Karen was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of Carillion Academies Trust in 2016. She subsequently decoupled sponsorship from Carillion and created a new entity, Victorious Academies Trust, which is now a medium sized Trust consisting of a group of primary schools in Tameside and Derbyshire.

Karen facilitates training across the UK for NPQH and NPQEL, she has been a keynote speaker and/or Chair at several national conferences, including the Daily Telegraph Education Festival and Optimus MAT Summits. Karen is the Chair of the Tameside Schools’ Forum Committee and is a Trustee at White Rose Academies Trust. Karen is also a member of the North West Region Advisory Board.
