Kirsty O’Callaghan

Passionate about communities and how we connect them to generate resilience, Kirsty began her career as a music journalist, moving into the humanitarian sector working in India and Kenya in partnership with the United Nations Office for project services. Kirsty returned to the UK working as an NHS Communications Professional for 10 years.  In 2010 she became the Chief Executive of a Council for Voluntary Service (CVS), operating Infrastructure Services, Children’s Centres and projects for vulnerable adults, later becoming Deputy Director of Transformation for Vulnerable People at West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group. Kirsty has been in her current position at Essex County Council for the last 2 years, with a brief to develop wide-ranging Public Health interventions and address social isolation and loneliness across the county.
