Lisa is the Deputy Lead Midwife for Workforce Education & Training at NHS England, with responsibility for supporting the delivery of the maternity agenda and working with the 7 regions across England. She has been an NMC registrant for over 30 years, having trained as a nurse and midwife. Lisa has previously held clinical and education roles, with experience in senior management, quality enhancement and as an LME. She has in-depth knowledge of higher education systems, including academic governance, policy and regulation. Lisa is a senior fellow of the Higher Education Academy, holds a Master’s in Education and Postgraduate Certificate in Research Practice. She is currently undertaking a doctorate and her area of interest is around how student midwives’ mindlines are created. Lisa is passionate about safer maternity care and improving outcomes and believes that this starts with positively influencing the education and training for the midwifery workforce across England.
