Sefton CSTR pilot

Mark is the NPS manager for the Sefton CSTR pilot and chair of the Sefton CSTR steering group.

Mark has worked in the Probation Service for over 35 years having stated as a volunteer. He has worked across most grades and has managed in Courts, Approved Premises, Unpaid Work, Training and Community Supervision. Mark was also national project manager on the Prospects project which saw the opening of five new Approved Premises; two female and three male. Throughout his career Mark has been committed to ensuring offenders have access to the right services in order to reduce their risk of harm and reoffending improve employability and sustain healthy relationships.

Partnership working has been a feature of Marks career be it with local community agencies delivering advice and guidance to larger projects involving the private and voluntary sector.

For Mark the CSTR project captures a lot of what he holds dear in public service. Strong partnership working with clear objectives delivered with professionalism and sensitivity. Men and women in serious need are often made to wait for badly needed services. The MHTR in particular offers quick access to life changing help that impacts on many areas of an individual’s life not to mention those who are close to them.

The impact of CSTR pilot cannot be underestimated and Mark and his team in Sefton are rightly proud of their work on the pilot to date.
