Martin has worked in the NHS since he was 18. A nurse by training, Martin has worked in some of the busiest Emergency Department in the country both clinically and in management and lead locally on improving clinical outcomes for chest pain patients and major head traumas.
Martin moved to the North of England and started working on large scale U&EC transformation on behalf of multiple CCGs, implementing large scale change to support improvement in clinical outcomes and finance.
Following successful completion, Martin moved into an NHS England regional role supporting the creation of U&EC boards following the Keogh review. Supporting systems to make necessary improvements in Urgent Care at the front door as well as strategically.
Martin is now Regional Head of Clinical Productivity across the 2 regions in the North for NHS England and Improvement. Working with challenged trusts and systems, Martin leads on wide scale improvement changes.
Martin is currently seconded as regional head of productivity within the same region. Leading on all aspects of Carter Review with trusts and systems including clinical, procurement, estates and facilities and corporate services.
