Luke is a clinical academic in Trauma and Orthopaedics based in Aberdeen. He has long standing interest in research, having previously graduated with Honours from the University of Liverpool MBChB programme and obtained a 1st class intercalated degree from Loughborough University.
His primary academic interests focus on the application of health data science techniques to the field of Trauma and Orthopaedics, including the use of routinely collected healthcare data and artificial intelligence. He is currently taking time out of his clinical training to undertake a CSO Clinical Academic Fellowship funded PhD which focuses on improving the clinical care pathway in those referred for hip and knee replacement.
He is also heavily involved in national clinical service provision and quality improvement through roles with the Scottish Hip Fracture Audit (SHFA), the Scottish Orthopaedic Service Delivery Group (SOSDG), and the U.K. Bone and Joint Infection Registry (BAJIR).
In between juggling his clinical and academic commitments Luke enjoys cycling, golf and spending time with his wife and kids.
