Following pre-clinical and clinical training at Trinity Hall and Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, I spent my junior doctor years in Southampton, Birmingham and Oswestry, followed by the SW Thames Training Program. My fellowship year was with Marvin Tile at Sunnybrook Hospital, Toronto
I’ve been a consultant at Cambridge University Hospitals since 2000. My Clinical work has consolidated to elective knee, hip and revision hip surgery
I’ve spent several years in management roles at CUH including T&O Speciality Lead and CD, MSK. Currently I am MSK Clinical Lead for the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough ICS and NHS Improvement, Orthopaedics Joint Clinical Lead, EoE. I served as British Orthopaedic Directors Society President 2018-2020 attending BOA Council and as recent Past President I am currently a member of the BOA Orthopaedic Committee.
Research interests include the role of nutrition in disease; developing this as Chair of an international group of clinicians and academics interested in Vitamin B12, ‘cluB-12’
