Ms Helen Dent

Helen joined BIVDA, the national industry association for manufacturers and distributers of IVD's in 2020 as COO. She was appointed to CEO in March 2024.

BIVDA promotes the value of medical diagnostics across different settings and uses by patients, clinicians and the public as a partner, an enabler and facilitator to their network, using BIVDA’s unique position as an independent organisation with unrivalled access to knowledge, technology, ideas and expertise.

Her career has been in both the commercial and public sector. Previously working at Abbott Diagnostics for 11 years in Contracts and Pricing in the EU and leading the Managed Service Contracts group in the UK, she has also held senior procurement roles at NHS Blood & Transplant, NHS Purchasing and Supply Agency and NHS Surrey & Sussex. She holds a post graduate diploma in Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) an MSc in Strategic Procurement and LLM in Public Procurement Law and Policy.
