Health Coaching Skills Trainer and Coach & Primary Care and Women’s Health Hub Programme Manager for Cornwall
Kernow Health CIC
I have had what some may call a ‘Squiggly’ Career.
With my roots in Psychology, I have worked within the Health, Community and Social Care sector for over 25 years; with a dash of Event and Festival Management thrown for good measure whilst balancing work and home life when my children were little. Over the years I’ve become adept at navigating changes and uncertainties within the system and transforming them into possibilities and opportunities for the people whom I have supported across Primary Care, Voluntary, Social and Private sectors.
I consider myself lucky to have had the opportunity to deliver Coaching Conversations and Personalised Care Planning training to over 2000 Health and Social Care staff over the last 3 years. Resulting in richer, more personalised health care conversations being had with patients across the system. Which, in turn, has supported them to access their own resourcefulness and empowered them to self manage their health conditions more effectively.
The mindset that has supported me to navigate my squiggly journey through work, my own health, and home-life had to be personalised to me and my life. A one fits all, traditional career pathway simply wouldn’t have worked for me and my family.
Now I’m passionate about embedding a personalised approach in healthcare to enable the people we are supporting to achieve their own health and wellbeing potential.
