Nicola is the Head of Understanding Patient Data, a small, independent initiative in the UK aiming to make the way patient data is used more visible, understandable and trustworthy for patients, the public and health professionals. She joined UPD from the UK Health Security Agency in April 2023. Nicola has been working within the field of health data for the last four years, including leading data initiatives within the UK Covid Test and Trace programme, holding the role of secretariat for the Goldacre Review on the use of health data for research and analysis, and managing the use of data to support responses to outbreaks of infectious diseases.
