Nuala qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 2002 having studied BScHons Occupational Therapy in Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland. She has over 17 years’ experience in mental health settings in Scotland and Northern Ireland including community mental health, first episode psychosis, prison mental health, juvenile justice and community forensic. She currently works as a Clinical Specialist Band 7 Occupational Therapist in the community forensic mental health team in the Belfast Trust, Northern Ireland. She is interested in service development having newly developed the OT service in her current post and in a juvenile justice centre. She is passionate about improving quality of life for service users of forensic services through the use of occupation whilst using a trauma informed approach. |
