Roberta started her career in the NHS in 1991 as a National General Management Trainee working for Bath Mental Healthcare NHS Trust, and has almost 30 years of senior NHS operational management experience, predominantly in the acute sector. Roberta holds a BA Hons in English Literature, Language and Linguistics from Leicester University; an Executive MBA from Bath University, and a MSc in Personnel Management and Development from the University of Plymouth. Roberta can evidence achievements in the areas of senior system wide operational and acute Divisional management, service improvement, clinical governance, strategy, capital development, project management, innovation, communication, partnership working and performance improvement.
She has worked as a Deputy Chief Operating Officer in three different Trusts and also has experience gained in the private sector (working as a Corporate Marketer for BT). Currently leading the redevelopment of the acute hospital in Cornwall as part of the national Hospital Infrastructure Programme 2 (HIP2), as well as a number of other associated large scale capital projects in the community; Roberta’s current management interests are in the expression and management of emotion in the workplace, and in the developing environmental sustainability agenda – particularly as it impacts the built environment .
