Rosemary Chable RGN, DipN, MSc

Currently in the role of Head of Nursing for Education, Practice and Staffing at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHSFT). 

Originally training at Kings College Hospital London, her almost 40 year career in Nursing is embedded in an Acute Elderly Care background where she held posts as Ward Sister, Staff Development Lead and Senior Nurse Manager going on to become the corporate lead for Retention and Recruitment and Deputy Director of Nursing and Education.

Rosemary is currently the Trust lead for all aspects of Nursing and Midwifery education within an integrated training and development unit.  This includes working to expand and support the apprenticeship opportunities for nursing. 

In addition she is lead within the Trust for nursing retention and recruitment – including international recruitment; advancing practice and safe staffing and is a key player in the development of local schemes, embedding these opportunities into the strategic aspirations of the trust.

A qualified coach, mentor and leadership facilitator she has a passion for the development of others and has recently qualified as a Professional Nurse Advocate and is leading the rollout of this across the trust.

She is active in nursing research and has been involved in a number of studies around compassionate care, the Productive Ward, safe care and fundamental care.
