Samantha is currently the Lead Antimicrobial Pharmacist at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust but will soon be taking up the post of Assistant Director of Pharmacy leading on medicines governance, information, education & research. As part of her current role she was instrumental in establishing the local OPAT service in early 2014 and continues to actively prescribe for these patients. She is Deputy Chair of the Antimicrobial Stewardship Group and represents the Trust at the Area Prescribing Committee. She has an MSc in Infection Management from Imperial College, London and was an expert member of the National Research Ethics Committee from 2009 – 2017. Recently she has supported the Royal Pharmaceutical Society professional development module for Infection & Antimicrobial Stewardship.
She is a professional volunteer with the Brighton-Lusaka Health Link and is part of a group who has just been awarded a grant from the Commonwealth Partnerships to champion pharmacists as antibiotic guardians in Zambia
