Hanham Health

Sarah is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) working within a category C adult male prison. Sarah began working as an ACP within Health in Justice in 2019 starting in a category B remand prison. This was not Sarah’s first role within the prison environment, as she previously worked as a programme facilitator delivering cognitive behavioural based offender change programmes in a high security prison. Since qualifying as a registered adult nurse in 2012 Sarah has worked within two acute hospital trusts before transitioning into community drug and alcohol services, where she was the Lead Nurse for two services. Last year Sarah was awarded the prestigious Queen’s Nurse title for her commitment to delivering and leading patient care. Sarah is currently engaging in a research project looking at the accessibility of healthcare within prison for which she has been awarded funding by Health Education England Centre for Advancing Practice.
