Stephen Holden is currently an Executive Headteacher for the Prestolee Multi Academy Trust in Greater Manchester. Stephen has been in education for 20 years and took on his first headship at Tottington Primary School in Bury. As a school that was satisfactory over time and then placed in RI, Stephen worked quickly and efficiently with an outstanding workforce to rapidly improve standards and provision. Tottington Primary is now consistently in the top 5% nationally and is rated good with outstanding features. The school now leads the way in research-led, innovative approaches to education that ensure high engagement and rapid progress for all. In 2019, Stephen became an Executive headteacher for the high performing Prestolee Multi Academy Trust, overseeing schools in two local authority areas.
Through his current roles as Executive Headteacher, public speaker, writer, blogger, the peer reviewer and Ofsted Reference Group member, Stephen lives his vision that excellent leadership and rapid school improvement derive from genuine positive relationships.
