I joined the prison service in 1987 at HMP Holloway as a Prison Officer. I have worked in numerous prisons across the South of England including time spent working with adult males at Dartmoor, Coldingley and Winchester as well as previously being Governor of Shepton Mallet and Bristol. I worked with young offenders at Feltham and with women at East Sutton Park, Pucklechurch, Send and Winchester; the women’s estate remains my keen interest. I have also worked in Headquarters, leading on the implementation of smoke-free prisons and previously managed a review of Probation Training and Qualifications. I was part of the successful bid team that won Blakenhurst back into the public sector. I have been Governor of Eastwood Park since September 2015. I also hold the portfolio of Health and Wellbeing in women’s prisons that incorporates, diet, fitness, physical and mental health.
