Tom McCarthy is the founding partner of Niche some 30 or so years ago. As a York University trained Health Economist he now leads the analytical functions within the firm guiding a team of dedicated data scientists educated at PhD and master’s levels in mathematics. Prior to Niche Tom worked in the NHS as a health economist at local and regional levels.
His passion resides in methodically helping the NHS exploit the full potential of the vast amounts of data it generates and in turning this into intelligence to improve patient care. He now leads on complex assignments around capacity and demand planning, delivering metrics to help investigation processes and developing the next generation of intelligence to assist the nhs deliver improved patient safety.
