2nd Virtual Patient Flow Congress: The Urgent & Emergency Care of the Future

In September 2020 Convenzis will be hosting the 2nd Virtual Patient Flow Congress on the Convenzis App.

Increasing numbers of people are getting the health care help they need by phone or online without having to spend time in A&E or call an ambulance.

The NHS 111 urgent care advice line has saved over 12 million unnecessary A&E visits, new figures from NHS England and Improvement have revealed.

This is a great achievement and a step in the right direction to help manage the demand that A&E departments are facing nationally, but there is a long way to go to ensure sustainability for emergency departments.

NHS England is taking this matter seriously and is currently testing new rapid care measures for patients with the most urgent mental health and physical health needs,

NHS doctors and nurses are also using Skype to help older people get faster care, reduce avoidable ambulance callouts and help people stay out of the hospital. The on-call Skype NHS team takes around 8,000 calls a year from wardens working in sheltered accommodation, care home staff and community teams looking for expert support for their residents.

Research has identified 8 potential areas of improvement that can further help reduce the demand faced by emergency departments:

  • Improved access to information on the services available for patients
  • Fragmentation of services and clarity of pathways
  • Improved patient discharge processes
  • Discharged Support
  • Increased access to primary care was highlighted as an area that required change. Clinicians engaged highlighted the
  • Strengthen primary care to deliver care closer to home and reduce activity within unplanned care settings

On the 24th of September 2020 we will host our 2nd Virtual Patient Flow Congress on the Convenzis App between 10:30 am and 15:00 pm, this event will provide delegates with an opportunity to join the debate on unplanned and emergency care services,

Our “Future of Emergency Care” Panel Discussion will be a chance to listen learn and engage with some of the most forward-thinking and innovative healthcare professionals in the UK, and we will take a look at some of the key pilots and strategies being implemented across the UK to help drive sustainability throughout our A&E departments

We will host 6 highly reputable and well-recognised guest speakers & a hand full of innovative commercial sector solution providers that will be on hand to talk you through the most cutting-edge technology and services that are helping reshape the unplanned care sector.
