Innovation in Imaging: Virtual Radiology Conference

The recent COVID-19 outbreak has turned the NHS Workforce into a modern-day Superhero. Radiology has played a pivotal role in this recent and ongoing battle against the virus, this virtual conference will provide a platform to listen, learn and engage with some key policymakers and innovators from across the country.

NHS Imaging services have advanced and transformed over the last 30 years, both to
keep up with new technological advances and to support the development of new diagnoses and
treatments. With ever-increasing demands, an ageing population, and an increase in
the complexity of imaging examinations, radiologists have already started to deliver innovative approaches to meeting some of those challenges.

Join us at our Innovation in imaging: Virtual Radiology Conference taking place on the 22nd of October via the Convenzis Virtual Events Platform and App. Our complimentary NHS pass will grant you access to all live presentations and downloadable content.

Networking and peer to peer discussions are encouraged via our virtual networking and meeting areas within the virtual platform and provide a fully immersive virtual conference experience.

As our journey through the world of virtual conferences and networking continues, we have made changes to our hosting platform with the aim of providing a more streamlined and interactive experience for delegates.

We will now be hosting our virtual event series via the GoToWebinair platform.

As mentioned this decision has been made with delegates at the forefront of our thinking, further details on using the platform and joining your chosen event will be disclosed in the not too distant future.

Key Subjects

In late 2019, NHS England and Improvement set out a strategy to create national formal imaging networks and will use the ‘Early Adopter’ imaging networks as a foundation for further research, this strategy will provide benefits including:

  • Sharing and levelling of resources for both staff and equipment
  • Ensuring equal access for all patients, irrespective of geography
  • Shared capacity and management of imaging reporting backlogs to optimise
    reporting turnaround times

Adjacent to this new strategy we have seen that artificial intelligence (AI) is already providing a significant increase in value for radiologists within the NHS. Radiologists at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust have deployed (AI)-driven advanced diagnostic software and have been using it as a tool in the fight against the recent Covid-19 outbreak.
